Privacy notice

How we handle personal data from enquiries. Written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process

We process only what you give us when you contact us:

  • name
  • email address
  • phone number
  • location of the site
  • the service the enquiry concerns
  • the content of your message and any later correspondence

We do not collect data from other sources and we do not buy it.

3. Purpose and legal basis

Data is used to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and carry out any resulting contract. The legal basis is steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and performance of the contract where one is agreed. We do not use the data for marketing or profiling.

4. Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are deleted within 24 months. Data relating to contracts is kept for as long as the contract and Finnish accounting law require.

5. Who the data is shared with

We do not sell or share data for marketing. The following processors handle data on our behalf:

  • Formspree, Inc. — delivers contact form messages to our email. Servers in the United States.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — site delivery and technical protection.
  • Google Ireland Limited — website analytics, only with your consent (see section 6).
  • Our email service provider.

Transfers outside the EU/EEA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which pages they read and where they arrive from. The service sets cookies and is provided by Google Ireland Limited.

No tracking starts until you accept it. A consent notice appears at the bottom of the page on your first visit. If you decline, no tracking script is loaded and no cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your own browser, not on our server. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) and section 205 of the Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services.

IP addresses are truncated before storage (anonymize_ip). We do not use Google's advertising or remarketing features and we do not combine analytics data with contact form data. Google may transfer data to the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can change your choice at any time: reopen the consent notice. You can also block tracking by opening any page with ?optout=1 appended, or clear the cookies in your browser settings.

The site uses no advertising networks and no other tracking cookies.

7. Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Enquiries are handled on password-protected devices and accounts, accessible only to our own staff.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Send requests to teemu@pirinensalo.com. We reply within one month.

9. Right to complain

If you believe your data is not being handled lawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
